Gillian is a Canadian multimedia journalist whose career has taken her across the country, from the Greater Toronto Area to the foot of the Rocky Mountains.

Originally from Burlington, ON, she received a B.A. in Journalism and Humanities from Carleton University in Ottawa. She started her career as a freelancer for Inside Halton, a publication based in Southern Ontario, and in 2021, she moved westward in search of new opportunities. She worked for Regina Leader-Post where she helped deliver daily news articles, and film and edit video footage for the web, and for Shootin’ the Breeze, a weekly newspaper located in Pincher Creek, AB, where she contributed photographs and reported on community issues and events.

More broadly, Gillian’s work has been published by The Star Phoenix in Saskatoon, SK  and The Toronto Star and The National Post. She has covered politics, environment, arts, business, Indigenous affairs, and sports.

In her spare time, Gillian likes to explore the great outdoors, tinkle the ivories, and cozy up with a good book.
